It’s that time again! Ready for another spanking snippet? My snippet this week is from my work in progress, Emma’s Surrender, and it’s a promise of a spanking to come. I hope you enjoy this dialog between the hero and heroine.

“You have very expressive eyes. Yesterday they were wide and wet, showing vulnerability. They told me what you didn’t want to say, which is that you needed me.”

“Is that right?” she asked, feeling doomed to listen to more of his words, which felt like a million tiny pin pricks to her conscience.

“It is.” He set his mug down with a determined thud. “And right now they’re telling me something else you don’t want to say. They’re shifty. They’re sharp and cunning, like you’re keeping some sort of secret from me.” His own eyes narrowed as he spoke.

She felt the thin hairs on the back of her neck stand up. “I’m not keeping anything from you,” she said in a voice barely above a whisper. How could he know that, just from her eyes?

He leaned back and folded his arms in front of his chest, causing her heart to pound a little harder. “I hope not. Keeping something important a secret from me is cause for severe discipline.”

Her insides flopped and a tremor went through her. “What kind of severe discipline?”

He raised an eyebrow. “Severe enough that you won’t ever do it again. Perhaps I should punish you now—give you a little taste of what I mean.”

She scowled. “That’s not fair, Nathan.”

“No? I’m thinking maybe I should turn you over my knee right now, tuck up your skirts, dispense of your drawers, and apply my palm to your bare ass.”

She swallowed. “Are you being serious? I can’t tell.”

He held her gaze for a moment. “And now your eyes are telling me you’re very worried. Good. You should be worried about punishment because, as you know, I have no qualms about punishing you. I will do exactly as I just described if you give me cause.”

Don’t you love a perceptive man? If you do, you might like Jesse in His Little Red Lily. Although a strict disciplinarian, he knows just what to do and say to take care of the heroine’s needs.
